Archetypal Counseling
Vicky Mulligan is available to assist you in discovering, understanding, and in interpreting archetypal patterns based on Dr. Caroline Myss’s theory of Sacred Contracts™.
What is an Archetype? Archetypes are impersonal patterns of influence that are both ancient and universal, which become personalized when they are a part of your individual psyche. They are the foundation for your personality, drives, feelings, beliefs, motivations, and actions. They alert you when you are in danger of falling into destructive or "shadow" behavior. For example, one archetype, the Saboteur, warns you of situations where you might tend to sabotage your best interests.
With facilitation you will be guided to recognize these archetypal patterns. You will learn to identify when you are acting out of survival and begin to make conscious choices. Sacred Contracts™ model utilizes a multitude of theories that Vicky teaches for insight into solving problems, to heal, and/or for creative expression. Learning to apply the theory of Sacred Contracts™ takes practice. It requires you to view your life through a symbolic lens. By learning to identify your energy patterns, you will be able to gain a much greater vision of the meaning and purpose of your many experiences and relationships.
To further assist you in this rich endeavor Vicky teaches contemplative painting as a means of viewing yourself through a visual language – the language of your soul.
Caroline Myss writes in Sacred Contract – “I cannot think of a more valuable contribution that you can make to your spiritual health than learning to understand your Sacred Contract as it is written in your own archetypal language. When you can symbolically read the content of your life, you can make dramatically better choices. When your life plans are suddenly interrupted, you can choose to view that event as a “Contract intervention” rather than as a crisis. What symbolic vision gives you above all is choice-the choice to see events as arbitrary and antagonistic, or as blessings that are part of a plan in which you have some say.”
